We are sure many of you have noticed the irregular appearance of yellow streaking in the park. Thankfully quite a few owners have notified management of this. This situation is indeed not normal even for winter conditions. To make sure we are relaying accurate information to the community, the Board first made sure to investigate this situation, including contact with owners and our vendors, prior to issuing any comment or statement.
Based on that investigation and the information we now have; we know this was caused by our landscaping company’s regular seasonal maintenance eradicating broadleaf weeds in the park. They have admitted that the mixture they used may have been too strong or mixed incorrectly. As part of their protocols when spraying for weeds they post signs at the park entrances alerting residents of any herbicide use. We are informed by the manager that these signs were posted last week.
To address this over spraying, the company stated they will be addressing the burnt areas accordingly and appropriately to ensure the grass returns at no extra cost to the association. They believe that the grass will fully recover after further efforts to fertilize and maintain.
The Board really appreciates when members of the community contact our management company (ELITE Management) when things appear out of the ordinary or need our attention. Thanks to those of you who reached out with information and pictures. We apologize for not being able to respond with an accurate update of what was going on sooner. The Board and Management’s response to the situation was immediate but we need to understand what actually happened and confirm appropriate resolution before responding to emails directly or posting any comment.
We thank you for your help and patience and appreciate you all. Thank you all for being part of this great community.
